Kelly M. Hunt
Kelly M. Hunt joined the firm in 2019 as an Of Counsel member. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwood University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. Then, in 2013, she graduated at the top of her class from Central Michigan University with a Master of Science Degree in Administration.
Kelly received her Juris Doctor in 2012 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. During her tenure at Cooley, Kelly won multiple book awards for her writing, was co-Editor of Law Review, on the National Mock Trial team, and spent much of her time as a Teaching Assistant in Evidence, Civil Procedure, and Constitutional Law.
After law school, Kelly started her legal career as General Counsel for a small, oil and gas company. There, she gained experience in the law and litigation surrounding business and oil, gas, and energy matters. She then started her own firm. Over the years, she has gained experience in oil and gas; probate, estate, and trusts; adoption and guardianship; business formation, conveyance, and litigation; real property title and conveyances; and family matters.
In 2013, Kelly started teaching at the University of Tulsa in their Master of Jurisprudence in Energy Law (MJEL) program. During her tenure at TU, she taught her favorite subject, Research and Writing, along with Basic Oil and Gas law.
Kelly has also spent a large portion of her time helping others. She has volunteered with Early Settlement Mediation, the Access to Justice Clinic, the Ingham County Veterans’ Treatment Court, Legal Aid of Oklahoma, and was on the Access to Justice Committee. She also actively volunteers at her church and with Heartland Weimaraner Rescue.
